Community Service Programs of West Alabama, Inc. (CSP) is a private, nonprofit, community action agency, created by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. CSP is dedicated to improving the quality of life for low-income and vulnerable populations in its service area. The agency uses public and private funding sources to develop and administer its various programs and encourages participation in coalitions with other organizations.

Innovative programs are increasingly necessary to provide working families the opportunity to obtain decent, safe and affordable housing. Since its community development efforts began, CSP has led an effort to resolve inadequate housing stock in Tuscaloosa and a number of rural communities. Family oriented apartment communities and opportunities for home ownership are important components of a stable community. CSP leads a collaborative effort to meet those needs in West Alabama.
