Companion Camp is owned and managed by Jessica Schmaltz and her husband Tim. Jess and Tim are lifelong pet owners, animal lovers, and animal advocates. Whether volunteering with various rescue orgnizations, assisting with shelter animal transportation or opening their home to fosters, Jess and Tim are dedicated to providing loving care for animals in need. They are the proud parents of three rescues, Cali, Kai and Micah, and are committed to continuing the Companion Camp legacy, providing the highest quality of service to all current and future campers.

Companion Camp is an all-inclusive campground dedicated to providing quality pet care lodging services. Companion Camp offers safe, affordable, and reliable care for pets year round in a beautiful, natural setting near the Research Triangle, Pittsboro, and Burlington areas in North Carolina.

We provide Iams Mini-chunks, Iams Weight Control, Iams Cat Food and Iams canned food for both cats and dogs for no additional charge. However, we do encourage owners to bring their own food, especially if their pet has a sensitive digestive system or is on a special diet. Some pets have no problems switching food from day-to-day, but others may experience upset tummies and loose stools. If your dog has a special diet at home, we will do our best to provide that here as well. Bring us the ingredients (chicken broth, yogurt, cheese, veggies, etc.) and we will make sure the meal is prepared for your pet as it would be at home.

We have steps in place to help your pet cope with stress. They are provided with additional attention, extra bedding and soft music. Special diets can be prepared to meet the nutritional needs of a senior pet, or you may choose to provide the food of your choice.
