It has long been an industry standard that when the cleaning gets tough, changing to a Low pH / High pH two-step process gives the best cleaning performance. Up until now, the downside to this process was in the first-step or the low pH side of the equation. In most cases, the low pH product can be hazardous to handle and has a pungent, unpleasant smell, nor-mally associated with acid products. Additionally, it corroded equipment, damaged injectors and concrete and corrod-ed chains in tunnel operations.
