Description
All public companies in the United States could be required to file financial statements using XBRL technology within three years, according to a long-awaited plan unveiled by the SEC. Under a phased-in approach presented by Chairman Cox, the largest 500 public companies would start filing XBRL-tagged statements next spring, followed by other large filers in 2010 and all remaining companies in 2011.
