Connect Network

Description

Our mission is to strengthen communities by connecting citizens to information, resources and one another. Our vision is to build shared momentum for locally driven community change. Connect Network comprises three regional networks. Connect Richmond serves Metro Richmond, Virginia, and Connect Rappahannock covers a six-county, 1100 square mile area in Virginia 's rural Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula regions. Connect Southside serves those living or working in Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, the counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George or Sussex, and the portion of the county of Chesterfield lying south of Route 10. Former Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade under Governor Warner, Michael Schewel, chairs the Connect Network Advisory Council. The Connect Network is part of The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia 's supporting organization, the Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence and is coordinated in partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University and Rappahannock Community College . Connect Network initially was developed in 2002 by faculty, staff and students at the University of Richmond .
