The American French Tool Company was started by Andre Beaudoin in the mid-1970's. Mr. Beaudoin, working with many prominent printmakers, designed and built the American French Tool presses for over 30 years. The beauty and elegance of the American French Tool design, the unmatched performance, and the outstanding durability have given the American French Tool presses the reputation of being the world's finest etching press. With its large, oversize bearings and solid steel rolls, the American French Tool press is the heaviest press on the market.
"Our Conrad Etching press... that Missouri Western State College purchased in the Spring of 1968... has held up remarkably well considering it was in constant use each semester and for many summer semesters as well. During this time we have successfully printed many intaglio plates, linocut blocks, and monoprints on the press.
The Conrad Micro-gauge is custom designed to provide the most accurate printing pressure of any press today. Our micro-gauges are cut from solid aluminum to maintain accurate readings. The hand polished finish gives our micro-gauges a clean and elegant look. The Conrad micro-gauge is calibrated to .005 inches. That means you can evenly raise and lower the upper roll of your press about the width of human hair!

Invented by Nik Semenoff; world-renowned printmaker, teacher, and inventor; the 3-Part Roller is designed to help overcome tinting in waterless lithography and print traditional gum etch lithography with colored inks. The innovative 3-Part Roller allows printmakers to easily print uniform editions using traditionally difficult colors.
Over the 50 plus years of manufacturing and repairing printmaking presses, we have seen and repaired every style of printmaking press from every manufacturer of printmaking presses. Often, we acquire used presses on trade-ins. These used presses range from large floor model presses to small tabletop presses. We acquire a variety of different presses from different manufacturers including etching, lithography, combination, and monotype presses. Once we get a traded-in press, our technicians inspect, test, and rebuild the press. Then we offer it for sale as a used printmaking press.
