Description
Conrail operates almost 471 miles of track in the northern half of New Jersey. Operations are concentrated in Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Union counties. The hub of Conrail activities in the region is Oak Island Yard in Newark, with smaller local serving yards in Bayonne, Greenville (Jersey City), Linden, Manville, Metuchen, Newark, Old Bridge, Port Reading (Woodbridge), and Red Bank.
