September 10, 2010 While 2010 has been a year of unrest and uncertainty, The Consolidated Companies, headquartered in Clifton, NJ, appears to have an upbeat prognosis for the industry and its organizations future. In the early part of this year, Consolidated ’s “CDS ” division acquired the assets of the long standing Door and Millwork Wholesaler, Long Island Wholesalers of New York. The modus for this was not only to capitalize on the market share of LIW with regard to their Exterior Door business, which CDS has been engaged in, but to catapult CDS into the Interior door business and ancillary millwork products. Regretfully, on June 27th, 2010, CDS ’s Door facility in Philadelphia experienced a catastrophic fire causing a complete cessation of door assembly operations. However, with the acquisition of the LIW operation 5 months prior, due to the efforts of a dedicated staff, within 3 weeks of the fire, modified operations resumed in what was LIW ’s Allentown facility. To date, production is almost at 75% of pre-fire levels. In addition to the aforesaid expansion, Consolidated is pleased to announce another progressive growth step by purchasing the assets of the Luvipol Puertas distribution operation in Monsey, NY, and becoming the Exclusive distributor of the Luvipol Door Line of Spain. This, formally the Creative Door distributorship of Monsey. Exciting as 2010 has been for the Consolidated Companies, with the expansion of the Door category in its product mix, Consolidated Distribution Services will be moving all door operations to a new facility in Bensalem, PA. The Consolidated Companies, headquartered in Clifton, New Jersey, operates three divisions in what will now be 4 locations. Consolidated Lumber Corporation: distributors of Mouldings and Millwork to Retail Lumberyards and Home Centers in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania markets. Consolidated Pine: a manufacturer of Solid, Finger-Jointed, and Finger-Jointed & Primed Pine Mouldings located in Prineville, Oregon. Consolidated Distribution Services: distributors of Millwork and Building materials servicing the same customer base as Consolidated Lumber Corporation.
