For over 30 years, Consumers Insurance has been an advocate for its clients. The life insurance industry has received widespread (and well-deserved) criticism for lack of transparency and more specifically hiding internal policy machinations. For years, the life insurance industry has played it close to the vest. They have withheld information essential in making a judgment as to the appropriate course of action that the policy owner should take. Many insurers have hidden behind "black box" models that they consider proprietary and will not release to the public. Much of the information that they do release comes at a mighty price. All too often, we find that getting critical policy illustrations and updated information from a carrier is like "pulling teeth". Legitimate requests for this information are met with resistance. Insurer response to client written inquiry is frequently met with off-topic rambling. Sometimes, they just refuse to answer, even after repeated requests. We have found a strong correlation between this type of stonewalling and the quality of their product. At Consumers Insurance, we take great pride in our technical expertise.
