Dr. Noy gained his doctorate in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto. He has nearly 40 years of experience in areas including workplace ergonomics, human-machine interface design and evaluation, behavioral research, and traffic safety. He has published over 150 scientific reports, and is the recipient of several awards including the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Noy is the past president of the IEA and the Human Factors Association of Canada, and is a fellow of the Human Factors Ergonomics Society.

Given strict staffing limits they were forced to discover new ways to educate employees about ergonomics, perform evaluations, teach specialty safety classes, develop new programs while maintaining existing ones, and still have time to assist with wellness initiatives. Dr.

Alan is a Professor in the Department of Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell University and a Research Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Syracuse University. Having served as a consultant to businesses and healthcare providers for more than two decades, he is a widely recognized expert in using ergonomic products and strategies to improve productivity, health, and comfort in the workplace.

Many companies embrace their mobile workforce. In fact, some Fortune 500 companies are even converting individual offices into collaborative work spaces, to accommodate employees who may come into an office location only one or two days a week. While this allows companies to better utilize facility space and foster community bonding, it poses bigger challenges for ergonomists, who need to ensure employees have the right workstation setup – whether they’re at home, or in an office workspace, or at a cafe.
