The Federation is a national non-profit association with membership consisting of 70 medical licensing authorities in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S Virgin Islands. It is our goal to provide services to our members to help them carry out the responsibilities mandated by state law.

The Association of American Medical Colleges is a non-profit association founded in 1876 to work for reform in medical education. Originally representing only medical schools, the Association now comprises the 125 accredited U.S. medical schools, the 16 accredited Canadian medical schools, 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems, 90 academic and professional societies representing nearly 100,000 faculty members, and the nation's medical students and residents.

The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.

Payment means activities related to obtaining reimbursement from HMOs, insurers or other payers for services provided to you. Payment can also cover activities to determine your eligibility for services with your insurer, coordination of benefits with other insurers, billing, claims management, collection, medical necessity review activities, utilization review activities, and disclosure to consumer reporting agencies.

The National Community Pharmacists Association, founded in 1898 as the National Association of Retail Druggists (NARD), represents the pharmacist owners, managers, and employees of nearly 25,000 independent community pharmacies across the United States. Independent pharmacists -- more than 60,000 nationwide -- dispense the majority of the nation's retail prescription drugs.
