The breadth and depth of experience at CDI in aerodynamic modeling, design, hardware, and test support has allowed us to provide solutions for unmanned air vehicle (UAV) applications. Our staff is ready to provide innovative solutions for your particular UAV system, whether it be aerodynamic design, advanced flight control development and integration, or supporting flight test activities.

CDI has been active in the study of submarine hydrodynamics for over 25 years. This work has led to the development of several analysis, design, and hardware innovations.

CDI has played an active role in the development and implementation of models to predict the deposition and drift of spray material released from aircraft and ground sprayers for over 25 years.

CDI has recently developed several high fidelity, physics-based, real-time aerodynamic models for use in rotorcraft flight simulations & trainers. Our software solutions provide blade element/wake models for rotating and non-rotating aerodynamic components that plug easily into any existing flight simulation or trainer. Our aerodynamic models are the highest fidelity currently available in real-time. The high fidelity requires at least one computer core devoted entirely to our aerodynamic solution coupled asynchronously with the flight simulation.

CDI has been actively developing analysis software in the field of Molecular Modeling for more than a decade. for more than a decade. Past work includes the derivation of fast multipole methods appropriate for the linear Poisson-Boltzmann equation (PBE), nonlinear modeling of super-coiled DNA using energy minimization, and development of a linear Poisson-Boltzmann equation solver using fast boundary element methods. More recently an adaptive Cartesian grid-based solver has been developed to efficiently solve the nonlinear PBE and its generalization to solvents with non-uniform finite size ions.
