Product Details The Control Cover is adjustable. You can open it partially or almost straight up, depending on how well your chimney draws. This saves you energy over a regular damper system which can only be either open all the way, or be shut. See U.S. Department of Energy study results . Durable Construction. The standard Control Covers are constructed of cold rolled steel with your choice of finish: either primed and painted, or powder coated baked enamel for a more durable finish. All hardware is supplied for installation, including 30 feet of woven wire rope. Installation is easy. To install the unit, you will need a 5/16 masonry drill bit to install the cable mounting in your firebox. No drilling is required at the chimney top.
