Founded on commitment and dedication to providing American made products made from the American recycled plastic stream, Conversion Products has been operation since 1992. Originally located in New Hampshire, the company moved to Maine in 1995. Conversion Products operates a sales and administrative office in Portland and a production facility in Biddeford. The technology for the manufacture of recycled plastic lumber is approximately 20 years old. Lumber dimensions are formed either through molding or an extrusion process. Across the country, many different plastics are used in the production of recycled plastic lumber. Since Conversion Products manufactures products which are before the public, we only use lumber which is made from recycled HDPE #2 (ground milk jugs). This type of lumber, while more expensive than other plastics, has a greater consistency, purity and color fastness. All plastic lumber used by Conversion Products has an added UV inhibitor for fade-resistance.
