The U.S. Army Child and Youth Services’ Babysitter Program enhances Soldier’s sense of well-being in the field, by providing a common Army-sponsored service during school-out hours to take care of his/her child at home. The standardized Babysitting Program incorporates local youths from military and civilian families to enhance the sense of community among garrisons and build important life skills for future leaders.

Opportunities for volunteer activities to interested parents will either be posted at the swipe in/out computers or sent out via email. Opportunities will be offered to parents on an as needed basis. Examples of volunteer activities for which certificates may be offered might include but are not limited to: field trip assistance, assembling toys/equipment, or providing assistance with a particular service project within the classroom such as painting or helping conduct an activity. Those projects or activities in which a discount certificate would be offered will be communicated in advance, whenever possible, by the Program Directors or Assistant Directors. CYPA staff and FCC Providers who ask on an individual basis for parental volunteers are encouraged to do so, but it will be with the understanding that discount certificates will not be offered unless from a Program Director or an Assistant Director.
