The company has been responsible for introducing numerous new devices to the endoscopy marketplace. The story of Cook Group Incorporated began in 1963 with the founding of its flagship company, Cook Incorporated. Using the spare bedroom of Bill and Gayle Cook's apartment in Bloomington, Indiana, as its first "factory" to build wire guides, needles and catheters, the business grew quickly. Cook Incorporated soon expanded into other fields of medicine, its success fueled by its commitment to providing the highest quality products and the best possible working relations with the physicians using COOK products.

Cook Incorporated's commitment to product innovation, skilled hand-craftsmanship and unsurpassed customer satisfaction has earned the company worldwide recognition among medical professionals. Recognizing early on the clinical value of the Seldinger percutaneous entry technique that led to dramatic reductions in the need for risky open surgical procedures, Cook Incorporated became the first U.S. manufacturer to produce matched sets of needles, catheters and wire guides needed to perform this procedure.

Originally founded to finance loans to Cook Group company employees, CFC has evolved into a real estate development company with special emphasis on preserving architecturally significant buildings in Bloomington and south central Indiana. The company works with local business and government officials to help strengthen the community fiber of downtown Bloomington through the development of valuable commercial, office and residential properties.
