Our Story Cooper Color was formed in 1997 by David Cooper. Cooper Color began with the acquisition of Gravois Auto Paint & Supply Co., a company that opened in 1935, and one that Dave worked at for over 10 years. In 2006, Cooper Color acquired Den's Paint Center, which had also been in business for years. Today Cooper Color has over 20 employees (including two PPG Certified Tech Reps), and has grown to be the largest PPG Platinum Distributor in the metropolitan St. Louis area, and one of the largest in the Midwest.
We also work closely with the design departments of our customers when they are creating a new color scheme for the aircraft owner. We have thousands of colors to choose from through PPG Aerospace. We can also cross reference from other aircraft paint manufacturers such as Sherwin Williams, DuPont, AkzoNobel, and others. We also can cross reference a wide variety of automotive colors. PPG’s Envirobase/Aquabase Plus system is in more shops than every other competitive paint manufactures waterborne systems combined. PPG’s Waterborne system is sold in more non-regulated area’s than in area’s that require a low-VOC coating.
