Times were extremely hard in 1938 when Virgil Cooper set out to raise the finest, healthiest turkeys in rural Ohio. The United States was still recovering from the Great Depression, but Virgil remained committed to ensuring every turkey he sold was a fair value to his customers.Virgil's integrity, dedication and appreciation for an honest day's work have been at the core, as Cooper Farms has become an innovative wholesale producer of quality turkey products.While the first 12 years or so were tough, Cooper Farms became a highly successful and fast-growing producer as the country entered the 1950s.
