Travel STEP 1: Fly to a Caribbean Gateway city and then transfer to Road Town, Tortola. FROM THE UNITED STATES: Fly to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and take a cab to the Charlotte Amalie ferry dock (10 minutes.) Then take a ferry to Road Town, Tortola. We recommend the Road Town Fast Ferry as it is direct, but any ferry to Road Town or West End (cab to Road Town) will do. Alternatively, take a commuter flight from St. Thomas to Beef Island, Tortola (EIS) and then a 9-mile cab ride to Road Town. Or: Fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico and then take a commuter flight (American Eagle, LIAT, Air Sunshine or Cape Air) to Beef Island, Tortola (EIS), then a 9-mile cab ride to Road Town. FROM EUROPE: Fly Iberia, British Airways or American Airlines to San Juan and then transfer to Beef Island, Tortola as above. British Airlines flies to Antiqua, Virgin Atlantic to St. Lucia, Air France and KLM to St. Maarten, then transfer to Beef Island, Tortola (EIS) as above (American Airlines, LIAT, and Cape Air). You will go through customs at the ferry docks in Road Town, West End or at the Beef Island airport. YOU WILL NEED A PASSPORT! STEP 2: Road Town to Cooper Island The Cooper Island Beach Club provides transportation for our guests to Cooper Island from Road Town, Tortola. Transportation cost is included in cottage rental fee. The usual departure time from Road Town is late morning. For an additional cost, a special charter can be arranged with the Beach Club at alternate times, (Before 5pm.) Sail Caribbean Divers also provides a ferry service to Cooper. NOTE: Usually guests should plan on spending the first night of their visit on Tortola. This allows time for provisioning in the morning prior to departing for Cooper Island. When departing Cooper Island, the Beach Club boat leaves Cooper at 7:30 AM. They will come for your luggage about 7:15AM. This allows plenty of time to catch ferries and flights back to,”the real world.”
