Mr. Monroe joined the firm as a shareholder in 1993. He has practiced law in Florida for over 20 years. In 2005 Mr.

Gwendolyn Adkins joined the firm in 1992 and became a shareholder in 1998. She has practiced law in Florida for over 18 years. Her practice is enhanced by her fluency in Spanish.

Our attorneys have represented law enforcement agencies across all of north Florida. We specialize in the defense of Section 1983 civil rights actions, excessive force/restraint, police pursuit, prison law and other claims.

Coppins Monroe was founded in 1992 as a civil litigation practice with a special emphasis on representing governmental entities in addition to practicing in the areas of business law and insurance defense. Since 1992, the firm has grown to eight lawyers, specializing in governmental representation, civil trial, insurance defense, civil rights/employment discrimination, professional liability, health care law, and business law.

Our firm assists clients in complying with the complex Federal and State labor laws. We provide counsel on new issues, assist in the development of policies and procedures and defend our clients against actions in State and Federal courts and before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations.
