Beginning with its predecessor company (James J. Cordano Co.), Cordano Company is a pioneer in the field of retail development, chain store leasing, and shopping center management.

Cordano Company is a privately held family real estate company focused primarily on the development and acquisition of retail properties in the western region of the United States. Founded in 1922, the firm’s activities have evolved along with the ever changing demand of retailers and ultimately their customers. Through its relationships with the major chain stores of the time, the firm began brokering and ultimately assembling and building for its clients such as JC Penney, Sears, W.T. Grant, Woolworth, and Broadway Hale in the various cities on the West Coast.

Alan Cordano has been involved with retail and commercial leasing for over 40 years. Mr. Cordano’s background includes shopping center management and leasing for large developers such as Ernest W, Hahn, Inc., and Robacor Associates. Notable projects include Capital Mall, Olympia Washington, Chico Mall, Chico California, Heritage Mall, Albany Oregon, and Silver Lake Mall, Couer d’Alene, Idaho. James J. Cordano, Jr. is Chairman Emeritus of the Cordano Company and the managing member of Cordano Capital (a private real estate equity firm). Mr. Cordano has over 45 years of experience in retail development, management and chain store leasing.
