Description
The Cornerstone Mission started in the early 1980s with the missionary work of Dave and Cheryl Adams. They first sheltered homeless individuals in their own home and then founded Cornerstone Rescue Mission in a large house at the corner of 12th and St. Joseph Streets in Rapid City. The first Mission faced a period of struggle and neighborhood conflict; in spite of this the Adams' remained courageous and committed to help all homeless individuals as commanded by Christ. The Cornerstone Rescue Mission was incorporated in the State of South Dakota on April 2, 1982 under the existing name.
