Mission Our mission is to provide a solid foundation of accounting and business concepts to our clients to enable them to build their business and personal wealth. We are proud to provide accounting services to the Front Range of Colorado at our office in Lakewood, Colorado located at Hampden and Wadsworth. Services Cornerstone Professional Accountants, P.C. offers personalized accounting services critical to small businesses and individuals. Expertise Our experienced staff has specific expertise in providing for the needs of small business owners. We have extensive experience in operating the accounting program QuickBooks ® and provide hands on training and classes. Associations Members of our staff belong to several professional organizations helping us to keep current and advance our knowledge of business and accounting issues. These include the Colorado Society of CPA's and the QuickBooks ® Professional Advisors Group. Our Team Kelly R. McDonald, CPA -- Principal CPA - License 15968 Erika L. Machan , CPA -- Staff CPA - License 25585 Terri L. Hust -- Staff Accountant CPA Firm License # 13074 Our Principal Kelly R. McDonald, C.P.A. Kelly graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado, Denver, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. She was awarded with scholarships during all four years of attendance. She is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, an alumni member of the professional business fraternity, Phi Chi Theta and is also a member of the West Chamber of Commerce. Kelly received the highest score for the C.P.A. examination in the state of Colorado in May of 1995 and was in the top 120 nationwide for the November 1994 exam. From 1989 to 1991 Kelly worked for a public accounting firm as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper. That firm was sold to another CPA firm in June of 1991 and Kelly became a staff accountant. . She became a minority shareholder of this firm in 1995 and in 1997 she bought out one of the firms founding shareholders. In 2007, Kelly went out on her own and now owns Kelly R McDonald & Associates, PC DBA Cornerstone Professional Accountants, PC. Income tax preparation and planning, QuickBooks ® training, education and set-up are Kelly's areas of specialty. Kelly is a member of the professional QuickBooks ® Advisors program. She also works extensively doing business consulting, tax planning and preparation. All CPAs at Cornerstone Professional Accountants, PC participate in at least forty hours annually of continuing education to maintain their licenses and stay atop of important tax changes in order to offer our clients accurate returns. Our other staff members also regularly attend various continuing education courses related to the areas they specialize in.
