Cornforth Consultants offers a broad range of technical services for earth and rockfill dams. Our geotechnical/geology team has considerable experience on dam design and construction. Cornforth also acts as lead consultant for multidisciplinary teams to provide the skills needed for a complete dam design.

Cornforth Consultants has been providing geotechnical services to various industries since 1983 and have consistently provided sound, cost effective solutions to complex geologic and geotechnical projects.

St. Johns Landfill was the primary landfill for the Portland area for over 50 years. The site is adjacent to the Columbia Slough and the Smith and Bybee Lakes Wildlife Area, which are separated from the landfill by a protective levee. Over the years, tides and currents have eroded segments of the levee. Extensive loss of wildlife habitat and local slumps along the shoreline raised concern about a catastrophic slope failure.

Mr. Meyer has 26 years of geotechnical experience in the western United States. His areas of expertise include dams and levees, power plants, route assessments for roadways and utilities, shoreline stabilization and restoration, landslide investigation and repair, and expert witness assignments. He has been accepted by the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as a qualified Independent Consultant on dams, reservoirs and canals.

Cornforth Consultants provides services to a variety of clients and often leads multidisciplinary teams in projects for federal agencies, utilities, state agencies, cities, counties, and private clients.
