Coastal Plains Insurance was founded in 1984 by Maynard D. Barker Jr., CIC, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Over the past 27 years, our service-minded professional team has grown to include more than 20 associates. Our office is a highly automated center that helps us stay abreast of the continual changes in our industry. We provide a variety of products and services tailored for the coastal communities of Beaufort County.

The United Insurance Agency was founded in 1922 as a private stockholder agency. It was established to meet the needs of the business community and the citizens of Laurens. The agency was started by a group of local business leaders as an investment and to handle the insurance for several large local industries and their employees. Insurance products included auto insurance, homeowners insurance, and business insurance.
