The firm was founded in 1981 by Orlando Costa SE and has operated continuously in the Los Angeles area, providing structural engineering services to its clients on projects in California, Arizona, Nevada and abroad. The firm offers structural engineering consultation and design on all types of building structures as well as structural evaluations, seismic studies. Members of our staff are licensed in California, Arizona and Nevada. The staff is headed by its Principal, Orlando Costa, SE and is composed of four staff engineers, CAD operators and administrative staff. Our firm typically provides services for $50 million to $100 million worth of construction each year. COSTA & ASSOCIATES is highly experienced in the structural design of schools, multi-residential developments, high rise and low rise office buildings, industrial facilities, business parks and retail shopping center developments. The firm also has wide experience in building projects for federal, state, and local agencies, particularly, the US. Postal Service, the Department of Defense, University of California, Los Angeles Unified School District and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority. The firm utilizes state-of-the-art 3-Dimensional Finite Element (FEM) analysis software and other structural design software with capabilities to analyze and design the largest and most complex structures. Quality control standards are met by systematic checking through the use of checklists and final review by the project engineer and principal. Our scheduling methods to meet multiple deadlines has provided our clients confidence in our ability to deliver the project in conformance with their schedules. Our services during the construction phases of our projects are highly responsive. Our staff routinely responds to RFI’s on the same day, or within 24 hours. Submittals are expertly reviewed and returned within the required time. COSTA & ASSOCIATES has built a long list of repeat clients and is proud of the successful track record it has established.
