We do 100% of our yearly business in the food industry and complete small to very large projects involving a variety of products. Over the past 17 years we have gained experience in the processing of potato products, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, fish, vegetables, crackers, bakery products, meat & poultry, fruit & fruit leather and many more. To supplement process design we also provide process support engineering services for refrigeration, steam generation, and mechanical piping systems and controls.

Covert Engineers, Inc. , our goal is to provide the best available engineering and breadth of experience in the field of industrial food processing, packaging, and related industries.

Covert Engineering was established in the fall of 1988 when its founder, Darrell Covert, contracted with a major East Coast food processor to provide the design, project and construction management for a significant expansion and upgrade of a snack food plant in Des Moines, Iowa.

H.C. Brill, a wholesale producer of bakery products wanted the design of a 100,000-square foot food processing plant featuring process, warehouse and distribution operations.
