The Cedar Rapids Aquatic Association (CRAA) is a comprehensive community aquatic program recognized for excellence at the national, regional and local levels. CRAA strives to develop positive values, fitness, and skills that promote individual growth and community involvement in a fun, safe environment. CRAA originated in 1982 and represents Cedar Rapids most prestigious competitive swimming program. CRAA offers instruction and competitive swimming programs for athletes ages five to eighteen and over. CRAA accommodates swimmers of all abilities and provides them the maximum opportunity to compete. This includes novice swimmers as well as Olympic hopefuls. Established in 1982 as a private, non-profit competitive swim club, CRAA has since developed into one of the premier swim clubs in the state of Iowa, first winning a state championship in the spring of 1987.
