The Climb for Crossroad is a leisurely two-mile stroll through our rapidly changing Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, ending with the traditional climb up the tree-sheltered steps of Prospect Hill. After the Climb, we'll gather back at Crossroad for refreshments, entertainment, a health fair and family fun! Since 1996, this event has helped raise critical funds for Crossroad Health Center to continue our mission of providing accessible, affordable, community-based health care and mental health counseling to residents of Over-the-Rhine and its surrounding neighborhoods - now serving more than 5000 patients who otherwise would not receive care. Crossroad Health Center opened in 1992 with a mission to provide accessible, affordable, community-based health care and mental health counseling to the residents of Over-the-Rhine and the surrounding Cincinnati communities. Emphasizing individual dignity and preventive care, Crossroad has become an increasingly important community resource, serving over 5,000 patients who otherwise would not be able to afford the care. Most of the patients at Crossroad live at the poverty level or below, and almost 40 percent are uninsured. No one is turned away because of inability to pay for services. Crossroad strives to provide excellent health care that treats the whole person - mind, body and spirit. Services include immunizations, yearly health exams, management of acute and chronic health problems, prenatal care and mental health services. Our ultimate vision is for individuals within the community to take responsibility for their own health.
