Welcome to the Crowley Heritage Center Web site. Our desire is to make available any and all useful information about the Crowley Heritage Center Museum, where the history of Crowley County is on display. The story about the determined survival of a diverse mixture of people from several different cultures, who homesteaded on some of the best grassland in south east Colorado. In the early 1900s irrigagation water was diverted out of the Arkansas river and bumper crops of alfalfa, surgar beets, vegetables and fruits of all kinds were grown in record amounts. The Crowley County area was described in brochures as the "Garden of Eden". Four Towns sprang up with schools, churches, homes and factories. The amazing continued story of struggles, success and survival is fascinating. Please click on the links that take you to your special area of interest.
