Description
Mike is a former Civil Servant who has been Leader of the Council since 2006. Married, with two young children, he has represented this area since 1998. Mike has always had a keen interest in education and the youth services in Shirley. He is currently a manager of the Shirley Youth and Community Centre. He was also a governor of Beckmead School in Monks Orchard Road, Shirley for over 10 years.
Simon Brew is recently retired and previously worked as a technical consultant and project manager for IBM for nearly 30 years; he still runs his own PC maintenance business. He has lived in Purley for over 30 years and raised his three children here. He has five grand-children and in his spare time is keen to improve his bridge-playing skills. He is also a cycling and motor-cycling enthusiast.
