WE PROVIDE MOBILE TIRE SHREDDING AND DISPOSAL SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY. In the Spring of 2004, Dick Ayers of Wyoming Tire, Incorporated and Brad Cundy of Cundy.biz, LLP combined their knowledge and skills to come up with a company that would be a benefit to the community and environment. This collaborative effort resulted in the founding of CASH TIRE, LLC in August of 2004, which provides tire shredding and disposal to businesses and landfills. There are several reasons that this service is a necessity to our environment. Landfills all across the country are overflowing with tires. They take up to 80% more space when left whole, as compared to being shredded and buried. If you were to stack all of the tires that are taking up space in our landfills, it would stand about 142,000 miles high, that is, amazingly, half way to the moon. In Wyoming, landfills are allowed to bury whole tires. Buried tires can capture methane gas and float towards the surface, which can explode upwards with extreme force. If left unburied, these tires can harbor stagnant water which can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes that can carry the deadly West Nile Virus. Tires can provide a benefit to the environment when shredded and used as a light-weight embankment fill for road construction. Some applications of this include: reinforcing highway shoulders, protecting coastal roads from erosion, and enhancing the stability of steep slopes along highways.
