Description
Cycle Barn opened in 1972 in a "wooden barn" structure near the current Lynnwood Costco. Starting out as an exclusive Kawasaki motorcycle dealership, Cycle Barn soon added the Maico and Husqvarna brands. In those early days efforts were focused on MX and off-road motorcycle sales and accessories. Harley-Davidson motorcycles were added in 1977, and Cycle Barn moved into Lynnwood Cycle Barn, one of the first buildings constructed as a purpose-built motorcycle dealership. As the focus shifted to the street market, the Maico and Husqvarna brands were discontinued, but Honda was added in 1984. Arctic Cat snowmobiles were added in 1990 and in 1992 Cycle Barn became the first west coast dealership for the restructured Triumph company. For a short time in the 1980s Cycle Barn sold BMW motorcycles and, later on, even the Russian URAL motorcycles. In 1998 a much larger facility, now Harley-Davidson of Seattle, opened on an upper area of the same site. Harley-Davidson of Seattle now houses the Triumph brand as well. Lynnwood Cycle Barn is home to the Kawasaki and Honda brands. Smokey Point Cycle Barn was opened in May of 2000 and brought additional Honda capacity to the business, combined with Yamaha and Polaris franchises. The Kawasaki, Suzuki and Arctic Cat lines have been added in recent years. It is the fastest growing dealership in the state. ...
