Description
The CYMO presents major symphonic works and well-known soloists in concert each year at Bridges Hall of Music on the Pomona College campus and at Garrison Theatre on the Scripps College campus in Claremont. The orchestra also presents special concerts for children, many community programs each season, and a performance at Disneyland. Special performances have been given at the Haugh Performing Arts Center in Glendora, Calif. and at Gardiner Springs Auditorium in Ontario, Calif. Their repertoire is expansive and includes works by Beethoven, Britten, Rimsky Korsakov, Mozart, Borodin, Mahler and Shostakovich. In summer 1997 the CYMO took its inaugural European Concert tour, performing at the Rudolfinum in Prague, Czech Republic; the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria; the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria; the Kleine Theater in Oberammergau, Germany; and at the South Bohemia Music Festival in Bechyne, Czech Republic. The CYMO returned to Europe in 2000, performing at the Municipal Theatre of Tours, France; the Champs Elysees Theater in Paris; the International Music Festival in Meiringen, Switzerland; the Saint Francis Basilica in Assisi; and at Saint Angelo Castle in Rome.
