In July 2009, TeamHealth, D&Y’s parent company, announced the formation of the TeamHealth Patient Safety Organization (THPSO), which was recognized by the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Independent contractors providing medical services on behalf of D&Y are required to join the THPSO and to maintain membership throughout their affiliation with D&Y.
