Description
JoAnn Winkhart, Event Coordinator, is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, with a BS in Marketing & Merchandise Management. She brings over 10 years of diverse experience from the fashion & entertainment production worlds to the event planning table. As a staff member of Angel Productions Worldwide, Incorporated during the runaway success of the "Criss Angel-Mindfreak" series on the A&E network, JoAnn had the extraordinary opportunity to attend various premiere parties and promotional events in New York, LA, and Las Vegas. This experience laid the groundwork for her transition into party and event planning and confirmed what she already knew- from the smallest to the largest affair, it's all about the details. Today, JoAnn's conscientious approach, gregarious personality and fine attention to detail shine through every aspect of her planning and executing a DJS event. One of the highlights of JoAnn’s experience here at DJS Events has been serving as a Committee Member in 2008-2009 and a 2010 co-chair for the Long Island Elite Charity Masquerade Ball held annually at Oheka Castle since 2004, and produced by DJS Events. "I remember seeing the ad in a magazine for the Ball in 2007 with the Great Gatsby theme and thinking 'Wow. That looks like a great party and something I would really love to be a part of'. Now, I can proudly say that I am!" Laura Raquel Viviana Strain, Executive Creative Assistant, graduated as Salutatorian from the highly competitive creative writing conservatory at SUNY Purchase College. She also studied visual and performance arts as well as social sciences. In her senior year, Laura solely created, executed and led several extremely successful events for her fellow students. These included a spoken word, arts and music festival that benefited the women’s on-campus clinic, a campus-wide scavenger hunt/nature hike and a vegetarian and vegan food festival. She also held more intimate events at the Neuberger Museum of Art and provided students with a chance to express themselves through various creative programs. Laura's strengths lie in her refreshing optimism, her inspired mindset and genuine desire to turn your event into something spectacular. Through her extensive traveling, she has attended events in New Zealand, Chile, Spain and Australia. Her worldly perspective and creative input add dimension and style to the dynamic DJS team, which she is extremely proud to be a part of.
