DMR Gutters

I have been a licensed Gutter Contractor for over 18 years; since 1993, and have seen a lot of different products come and go, but more importantly seen how they work, or don't work as it were. Wood gutters have not been an option since before I was born, so that is not relevant here. Steel gutters are by far the most commonly metal used, only because steel is the cheapest sturdy material available, yet t has accounted for around 80% of my work to replace these rusted out steel gutters that had not lasted only 15 to 20 years depending on how clean they were kept. Since only a small percentage of Homeowners clean their gutters regularly this is a substantial issue. Especially here in the Northwest where we get a lot of rain, and subsequently have a lot of foliage growth around our houses. I have seen aluminum gutters remain in service for over 50 years now, when installed well. It is much thicker than a steel gutter and cannot rust even if all the paint were to flake off. You want to avoid any gutter parts sold at your local hardware stores. They are not worth the effort to install, let alone the cost. They are not to code and will not last.

When installed well I have personally seen evidence of copper gutters in service for over 100 years. For gutters copper has been used for several centuries and has shown to hold up the best in most any area, unless they cut corners by using a very thin copper to save on cost. I have evidence of water abrasion wearing holes through thin copper within half a century. Given enough time water can wear down most anything. The soldered seams may separate after several decades. That is one reason why I do not solder copper gutter seams together. I use the most advanced caulk and copper rivets to seal gutters with expansion joints where needed, yet not done by any other Gutter Contractor from what I've seen. The standard thickness is 16oz copper that is rated to have a 60 year life span. About half my copper gutter clients opt for a thicker 20oz copper for an 80 year life span. It is as thick as aluminum gutters, but being a harder metal it is that much stronger. Any thicker and it would not be able to go through a gutter machine.

Non-local work: We will only begin work with receipt of your full payment, unless other arrangements are made. For non-local work over $500 we will accept a half down deposit, or 1/3 for orders over $2k. For non-local orders we provide digital photos of the progress for your approval, and we will need final payment before shipping.

The manufacturer is solely responsible for any deterioration of the sheet metal and paint finishes. They claim to provide a life time warranty on the aluminum sheet metals and paint finish I use for the pre-painted aluminum gutter and downspouts. I do not know of a warranty for the touch-up spray paints the wholesale suppliers sell us for use in preparation of gutter parts, but I have seen they do not hold up nearly as well.

I stand behind my quality with my extensive installation warranty (see: my Warranty & Service web page for details) , along with the manufacturer's 20 year finish and 40 year parts warranty. I give 15 times the minimum labor warranty the Construction Contractors Board requires of all contractors. Along with my labor warranty, I also offer a 15 year no-clog warranty for new gutter installations with my low maintenance options package. I would be happy to offer a longer warranty, but I do not expect I will be climbing up 2 story ladders much after I am 60 years old, but I'll do my best to provide strong workers to take care of it. I pride myself on not making unrealistic claims.
