Description

In 1984, three Clemson University classmates set up shop in a meager basement and started an architectural firm. They knew they wanted to provide innovative, functional, and sustainable design for clients. In the beginning they took on any and all projects and, in 1985, received their first big break when Applebee’s came calling. From there, as the team grew, DP3 began distinguishing itself in the niche markets of higher education, community, and restaurants. Today, we celebrate 30 years of providing architectural services to the Upstate.

For over 125 years, the educators at Winthrop University have been helping inspired young students prepare for their futures. To help prepare the University for its own future growth, DP3 Architects was originally called on to renovate the existing student center. However, the architecture-by-team programming process revealed the need to first step back and study how students use the campus, user traffic patterns, and campus layout.

Hailing from the midwest, Douglas earned his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. He found his way south by way of Clemson, where he earned his Master of Architecture degree. Douglas joined DP3 in 2012, after accumulating 23 years of experience in the Greenville area.

Pat handles all of the accounting and human resources aspects at DP3. She earned her undergraduate degree in Administrative Management from Clemson University and her Masters of Business Administration from USC. Pat first knew DP3 as one of her clients, working with them at her previous job in banking.
