We strongly encourage all students to be involved in co-curricular activities during their high school years. Involved students typically find greater academic success and so we provide opportunities for all of our students to grow as leaders. Our athletic program offers non-cut sports in each season-in fact over half the student body typically participates in a fall sport. Angelaires and theatre are two additional hallmarks of the DSHA co-curricular opportunities.

Through the involvement of eight theatre classes and four productions, DSHA students will gain confidence as communicators and public speakers while mastering critical thinking skills on stage and behind the scenes. Students will learn in a fun and caring environment that teaches the importance of teamwork and dedication while expanding their abilities in acting, singing, dance, carpentry and other technical theatre skills. DSHA Theatre strives to put on professional-level productions in our state-of-the-art theatre, challenging students both artistically and educationally.

The Music Department desires to provide an opportunity-regardless of individual talent-to develop the whole person through musical expression. Goals include music literacy, skill development, artistic impressions, musical awareness and teamwork.
