D&N maintains an extensive inventory of calibrated measuring devices, all traceable to National Standards. A routine schedule of inspection and recalibration is maintained for each device to ensure measurement integrity. We employ some of the leading measurement technologies. This is soon to include a computer enhanced microscopic measurement technology to visualize and quickly measure features down to a few thousandths of an inch with linear precision to 0.0001" (0.0025mm) Our measurement capabilities include an array of traditional measuring devices with precisions down to 0.0001" (0.0025mm) Our Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) has the capacity to measure dimensions up to 100"x28"x24" with linear precision to 0.0001" (0.0025mm). CMM technology allows us to quickly measure different features and produce 3-dimensional profiles. Quality System D&N's quality system ensures continual improvement, current good manufacturing practices and customer satisfaction. Our system encompasses all aspects of our processes from quotation and raw material staging to in process inspections to quality components delivered to our customers. First Article Inspection: Every dimension of the first part is checked and recorded on the First-Off report. This is to ensure that our customers receive parts made exactly to their specifications. A copy of the first article inspection report can be provided with shipments upon request. In process Inspection: Inspections continue and are recorded throughout the manufacturing process. This not only occurs at the start of each operation but also periodically during the operation. We believe that it is crucial to produce parts as close to the target dimensions as practical. Final Inspection: Just prior to carefully packaging components into boxes for shipment, we perform a final inspection. A random sample is pulled from the lot and thoroughly inspected and a Final Inspection report created. Dimensions are verified as are any required finishes, coatings and the overall appearance of the component.
