The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a related role. The candidate will ideally have software vendor experience within financial services in support of the trade life-cycle, with experience interacting with hedge funds and/or other asset managers. Helpful experience includes: cloud and local install client deployments, systems integration, data conversion, customization, testing, and training. Helpful domain experience includes: trade/position data, security master, middle office services/outsourcing, portfolio accounting, data warehouse, and treasury.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2-5 years of relevant experience and will excel at working independently, collaborating with teams, managing multiple projects, and handling confidential information with the utmost discretion. A Bachelor's degree is required, as is a proven mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Outlook). Experience in financial services is desirable, but not required. The D. E. Shaw Group is looking to train motivated individuals to trade in a variety of systematic and fundamental investment strategies in its Hong Kong office. Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, extraordinary communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, and an exceptional sensitivity to detail are essential. The ideal candidate will have an outstanding academic record (e.g. degree from a top-tier university), and a high level of computer literacy. 1-3 years of direct prior experience on a trading desk, ideally with some exposure to equities, is preferred.
