Another danger to using materials from multiple manufacturers: if something does go wrong with the roof, you might end up with a nightmare scenario where everyone involved points the finger at the other manufacturer as the reason for the failure. The safest choice is to go with one manufacturer for all your roofing materials and have it installed by a certified installer. That way, everyone is on the same team. A: GAF sends a factory-trained representative to do a thorough 40-point inspection once your Golden Pledge roof installed. This person is a thoroughly trained technical person – not a salesperson. This audit is exclusive to Golden Pledge Warranty Roofs and is designed to stop any potential problems before they happen. This inspection is extremely comprehensive. It covers everything from roof color blend as it appears from the ground, to how well flashing was installed. The 40-point inspection list is available on our Warranty page. Q: I need a new roof now, but I can’t afford to pay for it all at once.

A: There are three key areas: materials, warranty, and installation. Selecting materials with a known reputation is the best strategy. After all, even if shoddy materials are well-installed, they are still shoddy materials. When it comes to warranties, make sure you have – in writing – exactly what is covered, for how long, and by who (is it the manufacturer or the installer?). Lastly, know who is installing your roof.
