Description

The company was founded in 1973 by Michael G. Damone and Daniel R. Andrew as a developer of office and research parks. Soon they realized they could better serve their clients by providing additional services. With this in mind, they added brokerage property management and construction divisions to the company. By focusing on superior client service, the company soon grew steadily into one of the nation's leading full service real estate organizations having successfully developed and constructed over 1.5 M square feet of office space and 3 M square feet of high tech and industrial space in Michigan and Florida. In 1994, the principals of the company teamed with a pool of large industrial property owners and created a Real Estate Investment Trust. This was known as First Industrial Realty Trust ("First"), which went public and is currently traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "FR". Michael G. Damone continues to serve on the Board of directors. Concurrent with the Initial Public Offering of First, Michael J. Damone and Michael G. Damone founded The Damone Group, LLC ("DG"). The company was created to capitalize on Michael J. Damone's experience in the long-term care industry.
