Conceived by Bobbi Petri, Dance upon a time.... is the premier social dance studio in Queens and the Long Island area. Since its inception, our studio has attracted students from all over the tri-state area; we try to provide the highest quality of instruction available in a professional, yet relaxed and fun learning environment. Our ballroom, one of the largest among the NY area dance studios, regularly holds dance events of over 150-250 people; it can be partitioned into as many as 4 separate classrooms that can, depending on the dance, easily accommodate dozens of students in each. Dance upon a time.... offers group dance classes two (2) nights a week (see schedule). Our classes cover most of the popular dance styles, specializing in Salsa, Hustle, and Swing, as well as all the other American-style Ballroom and Rhythm (Latin) dances. Our group classes typically run on a 4-week cycle. Each week we have five (5) scheduled hours of group classes, with as many as three (3) classes running each hour. There are classes for beginners almost every hour, each night. You'll find several Pre-intermediate classes and there are Intermediate classes in our most popular dances. Advanced classes will be added as the need arises. For students who prefer individual attention, well as for those who need to reinforce what they've learned in group class, we also offer private lessons.
