With many years of experience in the Marine Electronics Industry, Mr. Daniel R. Smith, our companies’ President, realized that there were no dedicated Marine Lighting distributors. Most lights used on “boats” were stock residential lights with bulky, unattractive controls and electrical outlets. Daniel R. Smith & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1990 to supply the Marine Industry a clearly superior alternative to these products.Dan Smith soon realized that the marine industry demanded more than just superior marine grade products from a dedicated marine lighting expert. The marine industry demanded Support, Design and Guidance extending from the initial blueprint layouts of electrical components and light fixtures on custom yachts to exacting modifications to lights and other modifiable components.
