Founded in 1964, Daniel is an innovative full-service real estate company engaged in development, investment and management of office, multifamily, master-planned residential, resort, golf, urban mixed-use, retail, hospitality, medical and senior living properties. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with a regional office in Atlanta, Georgia, the firm currently focuses on markets across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.

Daniel was formed in 1964 to provide a real estate development and investment vehicle for Daniel Construction Company, which had been founded in 1935 by Charles Daniel in Greenville, South Carolina. The construction company built office buildings, shopping malls, textile mills, power plants, military bases, airports and other commercial and institutional projects around the world, often on the basis of a handshake agreement between Charles and the client.

Founded in 1964, Daniel is a leader in commercial and residential real estate. Loyalty to opportunistic thinking and a solid work ethic distinguished Daniel early on and set in motion its rich history of real estate development, investment and service.

In 1977, Daniel Construction Company merged with Fluor Corporation to become one of the largest engineering and construction companies in the world. The real estate subsidiary continued to grow into new markets, including a substantial expansion into the syndication business. In 1986, the senior management team of the real estate subsidiary spun off the real estate group to form the current privately held Daniel Corporation.
