The card also comes with premium AMEX benefits such as the incredible return protection which allows you to return unwanted items that stores won’t take back, purchase protection in case an item is stolen after you buy it, top-notch warranty extension where AMEX will pay to replace or refund your product after the warranty is over, rental car insurance, and more. AMEX is also the undisputed leader in making chargebacks a painless process when you have a dispute with the merchant, just fill out the dispute online and they’ll credit your account if they side with you. When you open the card you get: -10,000 bonus Starpoints after first purchase. -15,000 bonus Starpoints after spending $15,000 within 6 months. -No fee first year, $45 thereafter. Starwood AMEX Linky ———————————————— -The new AMEX Premier Gold charge card is an anomaly. If you click through the AMEX website the offer is only for 10,000 AMEX MR points, but via the link below you get 15,000 bonus AMEX MR points after spending $1,000 within 3 months. If you click on the link below and still only see the 10,000 point offer you will need to use another browser (IE, Firefox, or Chrome, etc.) or clear your browser’s cache and cookies and then try clicking on this link again to see the 15,000 points offer. The anomaly is that dozens of readers have told me that after applying via the link below they have received 30,000 AMEX MR points. No idea why, but very cool! -AMEX MR points can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio into lots of airline programs, such as British Airways, Continental, and Delta, as well as hotel programs. -You get 3 points for every dollar spent on airfare, and 2 points for every dollar spent on gas or groceries. -No fee first year, $175 thereafter. AMEX Premier Gold Linky ———————————————— -The AMEX Platinum is truly a premium card with a premium price. This offer gives 25,000 AMEX MR points after spending $1,000 within 3 months. You also may need to use another browser or clear your browser’s cache and cookies in order to see that offer. Last year my wife and I stayed in suites at the Wynn and Encore in Las Vegas for free just for having the card. It allows free access to AA, Continental, and Delta lounges for you and your spouse and kids, or for you and 2 companions. You can even add 3 additional cardholders to the card so they can get lounge access when traveling for one flat $175 fee. There is a 24/7 Platinum concierge standing by to get you reservations in places you normally can’t. If you even lose an item that you purchased on the card (up to $10,000 per occurrence) AMEX will reimburse you for it.
