Radiesse is administered through small injections in the face, and is performed in the comfort of your doctor's office. The injection consists of a compound of calcium hydroxyl apatite microspheres suspended in a gel containing organic compounds of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, glycerin and sterile water. Before the injection, the patient will receive local anesthesia to minimize any discomfort. The procedure can take up to 15 minutes, and patients typically can return home and resume normal activity immediately.
