Public awareness of diabetes and healthcare products to combat and treat this disease has been going on for over 20 years. This packaging design for glucose testing strips from Orange Medical of Irvine, California, focused on two primary requirements: First, it had to be easily read by the patient who may encounter vision problems in advanced stages of the disease, and secondly, because the product would be on the shelves of hospital and clinic storage facilities, it had to be easily found among myriad other products by the nursing staff.
