Description
David Riemer is a big thinker and a problem solver. In 20 years in public policy and administration at the local, state, and federal level, he has focused on poverty, health care, and education. As State Budget Director in 2003, he developed a state budget that eliminated the largest budget deficit in state history with no tax increase. In Mayor John Norquist's administration, he served as Director of Administration, Chief of Staff, and Budget Director. A lifelong Democrat, Riemer, his wife, Ellie Graan, and their two teenage sons live in Washington Heights.
